Happy Birthday to Us! This year, The Recycling Association is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.
In January 1975, the Independent Waste Paper Processors Association held its first meeting at a hotel above a car park in Leicester.
Then in 2009, it became The Recycling Association to reflect that its members were increasingly dealing with a variety of materials.
From that handful of members that met at the first meeting, we are close to having 160 members across recycling of various materials, waste management, brokers, security shredders, equipment and service providers and others.
To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we will be hosting a very special dinner at the Tower of London on 25 June 2025. Apart from the people who live there, we’ll have exclusive use of the entire site of the Tower of London.
